4 – Wise Owl Gazes Backwards
Last updated: Jun 10, 2008 03:52 pm
Inhale as you begin by turning at the waist, let your shoulders follow, and finally your head. You are looking backwards as far as it’s comfortable, breathing slowly. When your head reaches the furthest back point, exhale and come back to center, first the head, then the shoulders and finally the waist. Repeat to the other side. People with any neck or spine injuries or extreme tightness should do this movement very carefully. Don’t force it or rush, go slowly and relax! It’s not about how far you can turn, rather, it’s about gentle stretching little by little.
