Qigong practice is certainly a magical time…our mind settles, the Qi flows and we fine tune those under appreciated places in our body. And with daily practice, it only gets better. But I find the real ‘fruit’ of Qigong practice comes after our practice, in the real world as we go doing what we do. As you become more sensitive to Qi, you start noticing that it manifests itself everywhere, in everything and every situation. You start to see things differently, and notice things you had never noticed before. On a very simple level, recently I observed how beautiful the sky was on the way home…the next day it was even more beautiful, with more colors….the next day even more beautiful, and on. I couldn’t believe it, an even laughed at how it kept getting better and better. Simple, small, but meaningful. When we stop and look around us, there are so many wonderful things to see and experience…we find that stress and other negative thoughts have no place in our mind and body, as there are unlimited manifestations of the universe’s wonder. Its even as simple as taking a personal situation that bothered you and seeing it a different way. Not that all your problems will go away, in fact, the balance of Yin and Yang will ensure a healthy mix of ‘excitement’ in your life…but as you encounter problems, even ones you have encountered before, your sensitivity to Qi and the world chages your perspective, and the important part of the issue stands out. Recently, while driving, my left rear wheel literally came off and rolled alongside me, before hitting a ditch and catpulting into an innocent bystander’s yard. Though a costly repair and many hours spent waiting for a tow truck, there is SO much I have to be thankful for….that we were not on the mountians roads with no guard rails like we were a half hour before, or that my 2 year old daughter was not in the car, etc. Its all about perspective, and as our practice develops, we auotmatically gain the power of a new perspective without effort. Be sincere in your practice, practice as often as you can, and these fruits will come naturally.
